13 Fun Activities For Children To Avoid Too Much TV Exposure

Sometimes most parents have the TV on as a babysitter for their kids. That’s ok…we ALL do it sometimes! Ah, but it’s a double-edged sword, because kids who watch a lot of TV have trouble keeping themselves entertained, which in the long run makes your job harder! If your child needs more excersize, check out the  work out products

It should be hard to keep them occupied without too much TV exposure and so here  provided are some tips for fun activities.

1) Make paper airplanes
Warning: This one is highly addictive! My two boys absolutely love making paper airplanes. Buy them a book on the fine arts of paper airplane making, and then put your feet up and read a book.

2) It’s not actually playing with their food, but Towering Toothpicks could be more fun and creative when some green peas are added to the tower.

3) Ice cream making
This can be done with any flavor plus cream, sugar, and milk in a coffee can. Place a lid on the coffee can, place in another container with ice around it. Put rock salt around ice-cubes. Put a cover over the big can, and give it to your young child to move it forward and backward for around 1/2 hour or until eventually it becomes ice cream! (Try this one whether or not it’s winter…I won’t tell!) Kids can even help you cut out the

wallet friendly ideas

4) Give them a magnet and instruct them to run it all over the house and see what they find.
And loose couch change is fair game!

5) If you have bunk beds, put blankets around the lower one and make a submarine. Make it a yellow blanket. Then sing the appropriate Beatles tune.

6) Banking Game
Save your cancelled checks and fake credit cards that come in the mail. Supply the kids with a calculator, pencils, small table and Monopoly money. This one was my favorite as a kid!

7) Build a mini log cabin with twigs

8) Have a tic-tac-toe tournament

9) Soda Making in the Home for Kids.

10) Greeting cards making.
Get out the rubber stamps, art supplies and construction paper and make a greeting card for Grandma or another loved one.

11) Baking with Kids Get the kitchen ready for kids to make their own baked goods with easy brownie mixes. This could really be fun specially when they can eat what they’ve baked.

12) Treasure map fun. Have some cheap toys or treats that you could hide around the house for them to find with maps and clues. Hide in your closet. Make a list of items they must find outside. (A white rock, a feather, a red leaf, a penny, etc) Tell them an exciting booty awaits when they bring all the items to you.

13) Make a cave inside the house. Blankets could be fun to place over chairs and tables to make caves. Let them be responsible for handling flashlights and tell ghost stories inside the make- shift caves.

Another fun craft is to make  bulletin boards
